Stored XSS via unsanitized shortcode attributes
Published Nov 7, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in SendPress Newsletters through 1.22.3.31 lets remote authenticated contributors inject scripts via shortcode attributes. Shortcode attribute values are accepted without sufficient sanitization and are emitted without adequate output escaping, so injected JavaScript is stored in pages and runs when a visitor opens them. Contributor-level or higher WordPress access is required; the impact is script execution in a visitor's browser with confidentiality and integrity effects but no reported service interruption.
