Database data extraction via unescaped filter key
Published Dec 26, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SQL injection in WPVibes WP Mail Log before 1.1.3 allows remote authenticated users to read database data through the wml_logs REST endpoint. The endpoint inserts the attacker-controlled filter key into an existing SQL query without sufficient escaping or preparation. Contributor-level access is sufficient to send a crafted POST request, and the published time-delay proof of concept confirms control of query execution while reported impact includes sensitive database data extraction.
