Log disclosure and deletion via insufficient capability checks
Published Dec 26, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Incorrect authorization in WPVibes WP Mail Log before 1.1.3 allows remote authenticated users to view and delete protected email logs. The check_permission() function applies an insufficient capability check to REST routes for retrieving logs, deleting entries, reading settings, and resending logged messages. Contributor-level access is sufficient, exposing logged email content and allowing selected log entries to be removed without administrator privileges.
