Unauthenticated settings reset or import via unchecked requests
Published Nov 27, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Missing authorization in Seraphinite Accelerator before 2.20.32 allows remote attackers to reset or import WordPress plugin settings. The reset case of Init(), the settImport case of _on_admin_action_act(), and OnInitAdminMode() omit nonce validation, while reset and import handlers lack authorization checks. A direct admin-post.php request can reset settings without authentication, while forged save or import requests require an administrator to follow an attacker-controlled link.
