Authenticated open redirect via unvalidated destination
Published Nov 20, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Open redirect in Seraphinite Solutions Seraphinite Accelerator before 2.2.29 allows remote authenticated users to redirect a victim via a crafted URL. The acceptEula action at the WordPress admin-ajax.php endpoint passes the attacker-controlled redir parameter to a redirect without validating its destination. A victim must be logged in and open the crafted link; the demonstrated consequence is navigation from the trusted site to an attacker-selected destination.
