Administrator code execution via GTI file traversal
Published Nov 27, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Path traversal in Trellix Application and Change Control before 8.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted GTI reputation file. The TACC ePO extension mishandles the uploaded filename during GTI reputation import, allowing traversal outside the restricted directory and execution of attacker-supplied content. Exploitation requires an authorized ePO administrator to reach the relevant interface; the resulting impact is arbitrary code execution on the on-premises ePO server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
