Unauthenticated SSRF via proxy URL validation bypass
Published Oct 13, 2023 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Server-side request forgery in Vrite before 0.3.0 allows remote attackers to make the server retrieve arbitrary URLs through its proxy endpoint. The unauthenticated /proxy route applies incomplete host filtering to the url query value and then passes that value directly to axios.get. Network access to the application is required; successful requests cause server-originated GET traffic and can return image responses from destinations reachable by the server.
