Site denial of service via arbitrary option deletion
Published Nov 27, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Missing authorization in 10Web Booster before 2.24.18 allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary WordPress options through AJAX requests. The publicly reachable two_activate_score_check AJAX action uses the nonce parameter as an option key and deletes the named database entry without an authorization or allowlist check. No account or user interaction is required; deleting a critical option such as siteurl can render the WordPress site inoperable.
