CVE-2023-5545Network attack vector

Username disclosure via actor metadata population

Published Nov 9, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Information disclosure in Moodle LMS H5P support allows remote attackers to obtain usernames from generated H5P metadata. The get_core_settings method in h5p/classes/helper.php copies a logged-in user's username into the H5P player's actor-name setting instead of applying display-name access rules. The disclosure occurs when logged-in user information is passed to the player for tracking and is limited to account-name exposure.
