CVE-2023-5523

Code execution via downloaded content

Published Oct 20, 2023 · Updated Feb 23, 2026

Code execution in M-Files Web Companion before 23.10 and before 23.8 LTS SR1 allows attackers to run downloaded content. M-Files has not published the affected component or the validation failure that lets downloaded content cross the application's trust boundary. Exploitation requires Web Companion to be installed and a user to interact with the content, after which attacker-supplied code runs with the application's privileges.
