CVE-2023-5482Network attack vector

Out-of-bounds memory access via unchecked packet lengths

Published Nov 1, 2023 · Updated Apr 30, 2025

Insufficient USB data validation in Google Chrome before 119.0.6045.105 allows remote attackers to access memory out of bounds via crafted HTML. The WebUSB isochronousTransferIn and isochronousTransferOut paths failed to reject packet-length totals beyond the maximum buffer size, while the output path also accepted totals unequal to the supplied data buffer. A user must load the crafted page and interact with the browser; malformed isochronous transfers can then read or corrupt browser-process memory.
