Access-control bypass in DevTools in Google Chrome before 118.0.5993.70 allows attackers to exceed extension permissions. The public Chrome record identifies only an inappropriate DevTools implementation and does not disclose the responsible function or incorrect operation. Exploitation requires a user to install a crafted malicious extension, after which the extension can bypass its discretionary access-control boundary.
