Unauthenticated post deletion via unguarded REST route
Published Nov 6, 2023 · Updated Feb 26, 2025
Missing authorization in Templately before 2.2.6 allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary WordPress posts through a REST request. The saved-templates/delete handler accepts a caller-supplied post ID and invokes deletion without checking authorization. The route is reachable without authentication when Elementor template functionality is enabled, and exploitation moves the selected post to the trash.
