Authenticated server crash via invalid banner colors
Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
Improper array-index validation in PMMP PocketMine-MP before 4.8.1 allows remote authenticated users to crash the server via banner NBT. DyeColorIdMap::fromId directly indexes its ID map with an unvalidated pattern-color value while Banner::deserializeCompoundTag processes item NBT. A logged-in player can reach the path through an inventory transaction; the resulting undefined offset terminates the server without reported data disclosure or modification.
