Unauthorized table access via permissive defaults
Published Jul 18, 2026 · Updated Jul 18, 2026
Incorrect default permissions in SurrealDB before 1.0.1 allow remote authenticated users to read, create, update, or delete table data. Table-definition permission handling assigns FULL when the PERMISSIONS clause is omitted, and INFO FOR DB conceals that implicit setting. Any client authorized within the table's namespace or database can manipulate its data; guest-enabled public interfaces extend that access to remote attackers.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
