Stack-based buffer overflow in Inbit Messenger 4.6.0 through 4.9.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code over TCP. IMS.EXE reads bytes following a '<' into a 48-byte stack buffer until it encounters '>' but never bounds-checks the write index, allowing the packet to overwrite SEH and a function pointer. No authentication or user interaction is required when the server's TCP service is reachable; successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied commands as the server process.
