Administrator takeover via unauthenticated credential overwrite
Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025
Missing authorization in Tinycontrol LAN Controller firmware 1.58a and earlier on hardware 3.8 allows remote attackers to replace the administrator password. The /stm.cgi?auth handler accepts an unauthenticated GET request whose first flag disables authentication and whose Base64 fields overwrite the administrator credentials. Network access to the device is sufficient; the replacement credentials grant administrator access to the web panel and control functions.
