Kernel NULL dereference via premature iov access
Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025
NULL pointer dereference in the PowerNV SR-IOV code in Linux allows attackers to trigger a kernel fault via unspecified vectors. The affected pci-sriov.c code reads iov->num_vfs before checking whether iov is NULL. Public CNA material identifies neither the trigger nor required privileges and does not establish whether the fault causes a recoverable error or a system crash.
