CVE-2023-54292Network attack vector

Remote kernel compromise via irdma request race

Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025

Data race in Linux irdma 5.14 through 5.15.123, 5.16 through 6.1.42, and 6.2 through 6.4.7 allows remote attackers to corrupt kernel memory. Concurrent irdma_handle_cqp_op reads and irdma_cqp_ce_handler writes race on cqp_request->request_done, allowing stale completion state to recycle live request objects. Exposure requires a configured Intel RDMA device and reachable iWARP listener; exploitation can hijack kernel control flow, reset the NIC, hang operations, or panic the host.
