Unauthenticated metadata deletion via unchecked AJAX callbacks
Published Oct 28, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in WpExpertPlugins Post Meta Data Manager 1.2.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary WordPress metadata. The pmdm_wp_delete_user_meta, pmdm_wp_delete_term_meta, and pmdm_wp_ajax_delete_meta callbacks process deletion requests without capability checks. Unauthenticated AJAX access enables deletion of user, term, and post metadata without an account.
