Kernel crash via unsupported IPC4 topology widget
Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025
NULL-pointer dereference in Linux 6.0 through 6.2.10 allows local users to crash the kernel via an unsupported IPC4 topology widget. The sof_ipc4_route_setup() function dereferences module_info after unsupported widgets leave that field unset. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and use of the SOF IPC4 audio topology path; the bounded consequence is a kernel Oops and service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
