Kernel crash via premature MSM DRM cleanup
Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025
NULL-pointer dereference in MSM DRM initialization in Linux 6.3 allows attackers to crash the kernel via unspecified vectors. Early msm_drm_init error paths call msm_drm_uninit before the kms pointer is initialized, while the allocation check leaks the prior DRM device. Reachability requires an MSM DRM initialization failure; public records identify kernel interruption and a resource leak, not privilege escalation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
