CVE-2023-54199

System crash via unchecked Adreno cleanup pointer

Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025

NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel's MSM Adreno driver from 5.9 allows attackers to crash the system during GPU initialization. adreno_gpu_cleanup() reads gpu->dev->dev_private without first checking whether msm_gpu_init() populated gpu->dev after an earlier initialization failure. The panic occurs only on systems using the affected Adreno GPU path when driver initialization fails, and no attacker-controlled trigger has been published.
