Kernel warning via oversized BPF verifier metadata
Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025
Improper input handling in the Linux kernel allows local users to trigger a kernel warning through crafted BPF type metadata. kernel/bpf/log.c invokes WARN_ONCE when its fixed 1,024-byte verifier-line buffer truncates an arbitrarily long BTF name or BTF.ext source line. Reachability requires submitting such metadata to the BPF verifier; execution otherwise continues correctly, with only part of one log line truncated.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
