Kernel oops via unchecked KMS pointer
Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025
NULL-pointer dereference in the MSM DRM driver in Linux allows attackers to trigger a kernel oops via unspecified vectors during device teardown. The msm_drm_uninit() path calls msm_irq_uninstall() without first ensuring that the kms pointer was initialized. Reachability requires an early initialization error or hardware without a DPU controller; the consequence is limited to an oops or a policy-driven panic.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
