CVE-2023-54100

Kernel memory corruption via uncanceled qedi work

Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025

Use-after-free in the qedi SCSI driver in Linux allows local users to corrupt kernel memory during concurrent device removal. During qedi removal, __qedi_remove frees the SCSI host while delayed recovery_work or board_disable_work can continue and dereference qedi->shost. Reachability requires local low-privilege access, a loaded qedi driver, scheduled recovery or board-disable work, and concurrent removal; exploitation can disclose or alter kernel memory or crash the host.
