Physical memory tampering via DMA-protection setting bypass

Pre-boot DMA protection bypass in HP PC BIOS allows physically proximate attackers to tamper with memory via a BIOS setting change. The firmware permits unauthorized changes to the Pre-boot DMA Protections setting, allowing Windows Kernel DMA Protection to be bypassed. Physical access to an affected PC is required; the bypass enables privilege escalation, code execution, information disclosure, or service interruption.
