Kernel oops via misplaced exception table annotation
Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025
The rejected Linux Kernel 6.1 record described a local kernel oops caused by a faulting user-memory clear operation. In clear_user_rep_good(), the exception-table entry pointed to the register move before the final rep movsb instead of the user-accessing instruction, so a page fault bypassed fixup and produced an oops rather than -EFAULT. Kernel.org subsequently rejected the CVE, so it no longer supports a confirmed vulnerability or affected-product claim.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
