CVE-2023-54059

System crash via prematurely enabled peripheral interrupt

Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025

NULL dereference in Linux 6.0 through 6.1.17 and 6.2.0 through 6.2.4 allows attackers to crash MediaTek SVS systems. The mtk-svs probe registers svs_isr before clocks, registers, and related driver data are initialized, allowing an early peripheral IRQ to dereference incomplete state. The failure requires a MediaTek SVS peripheral retaining state across a non-reset boot such as kexec, and the documented consequence is a kernel crash.
