CVE-2023-5399Network attack vector

Remote file tampering via File Command path traversal

Published Oct 4, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025

Path traversal in Schneider Electric C-Bus Toolkit 1.16.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to tamper with files via the File Command. The File Command accepts a pathname that is not properly restricted to an allowed directory, permitting traversal outside the intended location. The published network vector requires no authentication or user interaction; the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized file tampering on the computer running C-Bus.
