Authenticated code execution via unrestricted chat photo upload
Published Dec 22, 2025 · Updated Dec 22, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in webTareas 2.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP code through the chat photo feature. The chattab_serv.php endpoint accepts a chatPhotos0 upload presented as image/png without rejecting a PHP filename and stores it under the web-accessible /files/Messages/ path. Any authenticated account with member-forum chat access can request the returned file path, causing the web server to interpret the uploaded payload as PHP.
