Unauthenticated command execution via password parameter
Published Dec 22, 2025 · Updated Dec 22, 2025
OS command injection in Kantar Media broadcast appliances allows remote attackers to execute shell commands without authentication. The login.php and index.php handlers concatenate the password POST value directly into a PHP exec() command that invokes /opt/sound4/sound4server without shell escaping or validation. A network-reachable management interface is sufficient; commands run as the web-server account, enabling reads, writes, or service interruption within that account's permissions.
