CVE-2023-53962Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated file write via upload path traversal

Published Dec 22, 2025 · Updated Dec 22, 2025

Path traversal in SOUND4 IMPACT, FIRST, PULSE, and Eco v2.x allows remote attackers to write arbitrary files through upload.cgi. The CGI upload handler accepts a multipart upgfile filename containing ../ sequences and writes supplied bytes outside the intended firmware-upload directory without normalizing or restricting the path. No authentication or user interaction is required; a crafted POST can place attacker-controlled content in arbitrary writable locations on the embedded Linux system.
