Unauthenticated code execution via unrestricted .phar upload
Published Dec 17, 2025 · Updated Dec 17, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in TinyWebGallery 2.5 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary server-side code through the admin uploader. The admin/index.php upload action accepts a userfile[] named with a .phar extension, stores it under pictures, and leaves it web-accessible for PHP execution. No authentication or user interaction is required; requesting the uploaded file executes its embedded PHP with the web server process privileges.
