Service crash via overlong Execute Program value

Published Dec 15, 2025 · Updated Dec 15, 2025

Stack buffer overflow in Xlight FTP Server 3.9.3.6 allows local users to crash the server through the Execute Program setting. The Execute Program configuration accepts a 294-character value that overruns its fixed-size stack buffer. Reaching the flaw requires local access, low privileges, and active interaction with the virtual-server configuration; exploitation terminates the FTP service without reported data disclosure or modification.
