Stored XSS via executable SVG avatar upload
Published Dec 15, 2025 · Updated Dec 15, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Creativeitem Academy LMS 6.1 allows remote authenticated users to inject JavaScript through profile avatars. The profile avatar uploader accepts SVG content with embedded executable JavaScript when the file extension is modified, then stores the file for later viewing. A low-privilege account is required, and the payload executes only when another user views the uploaded avatar, enabling browser-context data access or actions as that viewer.
