CVE-2023-53875Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Code execution via spoofed cleartext IE content

Published Dec 15, 2025 · Updated Dec 15, 2025

Remote code execution in GOM Player 2.3.90.5360's Internet Explorer component allows attackers to run arbitrary code through DNS spoofing. The player loads playinfo.gomlab.com over cleartext HTTP, so a spoofed response can launch a search-ms WebDAV page that offers a crafted URL shortcut. The attacker must spoof the victim's DNS and ARP traffic, wait for the victim to open GOM Player, and induce execution of the shortcut, which runs a VBS reverse shell from an SMB share.
