Kernel warning via excessive MSI-X vector count
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Improper MSI-X vector handling in the Linux kernel irdma driver allows attackers to trigger a kernel warning during initialization. In irdma_cfg_ceq_vector, the driver accepts too many MSI-X vectors and constructs an affinity mask containing a CPU ID beyond the kernel's maximum. Reachability requires irdma initialization with a qualifying RDMA device and excess MSI-X vectors; the published record reports a warning, not a crash or data compromise.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
