File-page lockup via EROFS chain-linking race
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Denial of service in Linux kernel EROFS 6.0 allows attackers to leave file pages locked via a crafted deduplicated compressed image. In fs/erofs/zdata.c, lockless hooked-chain linking lets two concurrent chains attach to each other, forming a cycle that is never submitted. Triggering requires a data-deduplicated compressed EROFS image and a multi-threaded workload; affected file pages remain locked indefinitely.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
