CVE-2023-5377Public exploit

Process crash via unchecked channel-layout count

Published Oct 4, 2023 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in GPAC before 2.2.2-DEV allows context-dependent attackers to crash MP4Box via a crafted media file. The chnl_box_size function iterates over layouts using an attacker-controlled channels_count that can exceed the fixed 64-entry layouts array. Opening or processing attacker-supplied media is required; the demonstrated consequence is an AddressSanitizer-detected process abort.
