Resource leak via unreleased arc_uart I/O mapping
Published Oct 22, 2025 · Updated Oct 22, 2025
Resource leakage in the Linux kernel arc_uart driver from 3.17 leaves an I/O mapping allocated after failed serial-port setup. In arc_serial_probe(), the uart_add_one_port() failure path returns without releasing port->membase obtained from of_iomap(). The published record identifies no attacker-controlled trigger or resulting crash, hang, or other service interruption.
