Kernel memory corruption via skb frame misclassification
Published Oct 7, 2025 · Updated Oct 7, 2025
Memory corruption in the Linux kernel allows local users with BPF and network-administration capabilities to corrupt kernel memory via cpumap teardown. __cpu_map_ring_cleanup() treats queued sk_buffs as XDP frames and passes their misread fields to XDP frame-release logic. The condition produces a kernel warning and can expose or corrupt memory or crash the host; triggering requires local BPF syscalls, CAP_NET_ADMIN, and skb-mode XDP traffic.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
