CVE-2023-53622

Unspecified local impact via unlocked GFS2 reads

Published Oct 7, 2025 · Updated Oct 7, 2025

Data race in GFS2 in affected Linux kernel releases allows local users to trigger unspecified impact during filesystem reconfiguration. gfs2_show_options() reads fields such as gfs2_tune.gt_logd_secs without gt_spin while gfs2_reconfigure() can write the same fields under that lock. Reachability requires local activity against a GFS2 filesystem concurrent with reconfiguration; the Linux disclosure identifies no concrete security consequence.
