Service interruption via unallocated WWAN teardown
Published Oct 4, 2025 · Updated Oct 4, 2025
NULL pointer dereference in the Linux iosm WWAN driver from 5.14 allows local users to interrupt service during device removal. When ipc_imem_wwan_channel_init() cannot obtain valid device capabilities, no wwan structure is allocated, yet ipc_wwan_deinit() dereferences it during teardown. Reachability requires an iosm-managed WWAN device, a failed initialization, and a suspend/resume removal-rescan cycle; the resulting kernel fault disrupts device communication.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
