Packet corruption via incomplete DMA state restoration
Published Oct 4, 2025 · Updated Oct 4, 2025
State-restoration error in the Linux kernel RDMA/rxe requester allows local users to corrupt retransmitted Soft-RoCE packets under load. In rxe_requester(), packet construction advances the WQE dma scatter-gather state before it is saved, while rollback omits that state after rxe_xmit_packet() returns -EAGAIN. Reachability requires an active Soft-RoCE device, local low-privileged access, packet loss, and a heavy workload with many queue pairs sending large messages from a fast node to a slow node.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
