Stored XSS via unauthorized settings update
Published Dec 18, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in MultiVendorX CatalogX before 5.0.3 allows remote attackers to inject script through an unauthenticated settings request. The mvx_catalog/v1/save_enquiry REST route accepts a JSON model without authorization and stores an unescaped custom_hover_background_color value that is rendered on product pages. Catalog Mode must be active, and the injected script executes when a user visits an affected product page.
