Service interruption via unpurged MCU queues
Published Oct 1, 2025 · Updated Oct 1, 2025
Memory leak in the mt7915 Wi-Fi driver in Linux 5.8 through 6.1.15 and 6.2 through 6.2.2 allows local users to interrupt service. The mt7915_mcu_exit routine returns when firmware-state cleanup fails, leaving queued MCU socket buffers unpurged. Low-privileged local access and affected mt7915 hardware are required; retained kernel memory creates an availability-only condition.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
