Local denial of service via debugfs reference leak
Published Sep 18, 2025 · Updated Sep 18, 2025
Memory leak in the Linux kernel allows local users to exhaust memory through repeated bcm63xx UDC debugfs cleanup. The bcm63xx_udc removal path calls debugfs_lookup() without releasing the returned dentry, so each cleanup retains a reference instead of calling dput(). Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and repeated execution of the affected cleanup path; the resulting leak can interrupt service by exhausting memory.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
