Service interruption via mlx5e error-path memory leak
Published Sep 18, 2025 · Updated Sep 18, 2025
Memory leak in the Linux kernel allows local users to interrupt service through mlx5e flow-steering setup failures. The mlx5e_fs_tt_redirect_any_create function leaves fs->any allocated when setup takes an error path instead of releasing it as the destroy path does. Reachability requires local low-privileged access and an active mlx5e Ethernet driver; repeated failures can exhaust kernel memory and disrupt host networking or availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
