Local service interruption via leaked user mappings
Published Sep 17, 2025 · Updated Sep 17, 2025
Memory leak in the Habanalabs accelerator driver in Linux 5.1 through 6.4.11 allows local users to exhaust kernel memory. The context-open path clears captured user_mappings bookkeeping after a hard reset without releasing the associated allocation. Triggering the sequence requires access to a Habana accelerator context, a captured user mapping, and a device hard reset; repetition can interrupt the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
